Fostering in Ashton
If you are considering fostering in Ashton, get in touch and we can talk you through every step of the process and answer any questions your might have. Our priority is the children that come through our Ashton fostering agency, though it’s very important to us that our carers are also supported, whether that be emotional support or financial, with expenses for clothing, food, pocket money etc. covered.
Everything we do is intended to be “beyond expectation” – fostering should be reassuring and comforting for the children, and easy and rewarding for you, and we’ll do whatever we can to ensure that happens. Our training and support for our foster carers at our Ashton foster care agency is second to none.
Fostering is not for everyone. It requires a huge amount of dedication, empathy and understanding, as many of our children looking for foster care have upsetting stories to tell and come from difficult backgrounds. They’re looking for stability and normality during a tough time, and whilst it’s rarely easy, it is always very rewarding for our carers.
Our Ashton fostering agency works with a diverse group of foster carers from many backgrounds and careers, though there are some consistent requirements. Carers must be over 25, with a full health and DBS check, and able to give round the clock care to the child. Each fostered child should have his or her own bedroom, unless there are same sex siblings involved.
Lots of energy, commitment and understanding are key, so if that sounds like you and you’d like to find out more, give us a call. We would ask that you think carefully about the impact on your own children, if you have them, of fostering another child. Consider, too that due to the nature of their situation, our children might exhibit challenging behaviour, and might not show their gratitude outwardly.
Give us a ring and you could transform the life of a child in need.
