Columbus House is located in a Grade II listed former manor house in Halifax. The site offers specialist therapeutic care and education for younger children (below 12 on admission) who have experienced severe trauma and abuse. The service offered at Columbus House incorporates clinical input, therapeutic care and specialised bespoke education programmes to support abused and traumatised young children towards recovery. Our aim at Columbus House is to be able to transition all young people into a family based placement by the end of the therapeutic programme – this can be 12 months – 2 years. Columbus House has a seperate DfE registered school, providing education for the residents of the home, in addition to a seperate clinical suite. The home can provide nurturing specialist care for up to 5 children, with ample living and games spaces, as well as a large garden.
