Our Education section

Maintaining young people in education is of vital importance. Our DfE/Estyn registered schools provide full time education to small groups of pupils. The lead teachers and our academy managers are experienced and well qualified professionals with proven track records of delivering excellent outcomes. They oversee the quality of education and are supported by experienced teaching assistants and a range of specialist subject tutors and instructors.

Pupils follow the national curriculum and are entered for national accreditations i.e. GCSE, functional skills, entry level certification, ASDAN and BTEC. Timetables enable delivery of up to 25hrs per week education during term time. Our schools incorporate a strong vocational strand and an alternative curriculum approach and have a robust focus on incorporating IT into the daily delivery of lessons. The cohort of pupils usually share a background of being failed by mainstream provisions and are presented with a bespoke and made to measure approach to education that focuses on both enjoyment and achievement.

Strong co-operation between care practitioners, clinicians and education staff enable a 24 hour curriculum approach that ensures pupils get maximum opportunities to achieve and progress their personal development.

Furthermore we have robust connections with a variety of providers who enable us to obtain a variety of qualification, as well as operational links with local colleges ensuring post 16 placements.

Celebrating Success

In 2017-2018 our students have achieved 2 A- Levels and 17 GCSE outcomes. This means a 100% success rate for students entered.

In 2017- 2018 our students have achieved a total of 2 Functional Skills Level 2 and 34 Functional skills Level 1 qualifications in English, maths and IT. This means a 80% success rate for students entered.

In 2017- 2018 our students achieved over 300 AQA unit awards in their vocational areas in total. This is an increase of nearly 50% compared to the previous academic year.
