Welcome to our Fostering Team
Fostering in Rochdale
Care 4 Children is an independent Rochdale foster care agency committed to placing vulnerable children with foster parents throughout the region. Our ethos centres around ensuring children from diverse backgrounds are placed within safe and rigorously screened foster homes, where each child’s individual needs will be best met.
Duration of placements varies from just one night to several years, and in emergency cases a child may need to be placed less than 12 hours after referral. Short-term fostering often evolves into a long-term arrangement, whilst some of our children are placed permanently from day one. Children with significant health compromises or challenging behaviours will require ‘enhanced placements’, and we also arrange ‘parent and child placements’ aimed at keeping families together. C4C provides extra support to carers undertaking these types of placement.
Our service is geared towards supporting carers of teenagers and children with complex needs – all of these young people are known by our staff, and we pride ourselves on making home visits whenever a need arises.
Our successful approach has ensured the continued growth of our C4C Fostering Team, and we are actively seeking committed foster parents. Experienced carers are welcome, although full training will be provided to those new to fostering. Patience, resilience and understanding are vital traits for joining our Rochdale fostering agency, and we aim to attract committed people from all walks of life.
Our foster parent community is valued, and in return for your ‘all-out’ commitment you will benefit from a therapeutic fostering approach with our clinical team delivering monthly consultations for all carers. Our detailed recruitment and vetting process will involve a fostering assessment and attendance at workshops. If you wish to be considered for fostering in Rochdale and have secure accommodation, including a spare room, please contact us to discuss the process further. A rewarding career as part of our fostering family may be open to you.
