Welcome to our Fostering Team

Amazing things happen throughout our fostering family every day. As a founder led agency, we put children at the heart of everything we do.
We take pride in ensuring a team approach, where our foster carers are supported to become part of our family. We are constantly striving to create a caring fostering community where our foster carers and staff work together to ensure children’s needs are met.
At Care 4 Children Fostering, we work relentlessly to recruit, train and support our foster carers and are committed to providing stable, caring, family environments in which children will thrive. Our foster carers have access to an excellent training programme of ongoing support which ensures we can place children with a variety of needs.
We employ experienced and highly skilled social workers to ensure that we achieve the best possible outcome for the children in our care, and that every placement receives the dedicated support in whatever way is needed.

Fostering in Sefton

We are a Sefton fostering agency and we provide a personalised service to all of our carers, by supporting you through every step of the fostering process. There are many reasons why a child may not be able to live with their birth family, and without the generous care services provided by local people like you, they would have nowhere to go. All of our foster carers work closely with us to ensure that the best decisions for each child are always made. If you are unsure about anything, don’t worry as everyone here at our Sefton foster care agency is on hand to help, whenever you need it.

The personal rewards are huge for everyone involved in fostering. Let’s take a look at what fostering really means and what is involved in the process:

What is Fostering?

Making the decision to become a foster carer is a wonderful choice with many rewards. When a child can no longer stay with his or her family for whatever reason, either temporarily or permanently, they will be placed into care with a foster carer, on the direction of a Family Proceedings Court. When a child becomes the subject of a Care Order, the Local Authority (Council) will become what is referred to as a “Corporate Parent” and they are able to make decisions for the child, just as a birth parent would.

Different Types of Fostering

When a child is placed into foster care, a foster carer may be asked to take care of the child on any of the following terms:

  • Emergency or temporary placement
  • Short break or respite care
  • Long term foster care
