Systemic Practice Certificate
Starting October 2018 and running to July 2019 C4C in conjunction with the Institute of Family Therapy, London will be running the Child Focused Systemic Practice Course
This is a pioneering initiative and an investment in our workforce which will without doubt benefit the children that we are privileged to look after.
The course provides a flexible and focused approach with a strong emphasis on skills development and putting practice into theory.
Participants will appreciate the influences and useful contributions not only from systemic family therapy theories, but also from attachment theory, with a focus on child development from an attachment perspective incorporating the impact of trauma on developmental processes. There is a special emphasis on Looked After children and the contexts that impact on their life stories.
The course provides opportunities to reflect upon practice; develop your personal “style” as a practitioner and extend your repertoire of skills. Specific attention will be paid to working with traumatised children and the impact this has on you as a practitioner and your organisational context.
Upon completion of the course, you will gain a Post Graduate Level Qualification in Child Focused Practice ( Higher Education Level 6). This is a standalone certificate or provides eligibility for entry to the Post graduate Certificate in Systemic Practice.
The Child Focused Systemic Practice Course is unique to the Institute of Family Therapy. Care4Children as partners will be able to add their considerable experience of working with Looked After children to this exciting and ground breaking programme.
